Just recently, I had decided to reformat my computer. Well, when it was done reformatting and rebooted, I got a black screen that said, "No Operating System Found". I have no idea on how to fix this! Can someone help me, please?

Re: No Operating System Found! by Anonymous Ghost on October 27th, 2004 06:29:56 AM I got a message No Operating System Found. What do I need to do to correct this or what is the problem? |
Re: No Operating System Found! by Anonymous Ghost on November 11th, 2004 04:32:14 PM whel you need to install an operating system. you should get a newer one (windows xp), but if you have a pentium 1 or lower (scary, aint it?) you need to install an older version, and i prefer windows 98. You have to buy it if the computer origanly came with it. You can get windows 98 on e-bay for a few bucks, but i dont think the normal stores sell it anymore. You can get windows xp at any average computer store (circuit city) or even at wal-mart. If you don't want to do all this stuff, call the geek squad (seriously) at 1800-Geek-squad or www.geeksquad.com/ contact me at poisondeathsk8r@netscape.net and tell me if it helped |

Re: No Operating System Found! by Anonymous Ghost on January 24th, 2005 07:56:15 AM if its comming up when you boot up your computer "operating system not found" then its probably because your hard drive has failed and you need a new one of those ... try buying a cheap hard drive and loading an operating system on to that ... if that works buy a bigger harddrive and use the first as backup. |
Re: No Operating System Found! by Anonymous Ghost on September 16th, 2005 08:55:43 PM I've had the same problem with 2 laptops and what I've done to ix them was I put them in my desktop computer, backed them up and formatted them right away on the desktop. I put the hd back into the laptops and ran fine after that, but then I got the same prob on another one of my acer laptops, I hear alot about people replacing their hd, thats one solution, but an expensive one. Try formatting it in a different computer before you chuck the hd. |
