| computer will not boot | Configuration: |
goes through post no error
message for "invalid system disk remove and press any key to continue"
but there is no disk in A: orD:

My computer will not boot at all.... if I soft-boot many, many, many times, I can sometimes get to the bios-screen. If it goes past that screen, the desktop eventually shows up, but then the computer completely freezes - screen becomes covered in squiggly, multi-colored lines.
I've tried pulling off all peripherals and new stuff (hardware firewall, new memory card). Makes no difference with them all on or all off.
I've decided it can't be a software issue, since it won't even go as far as the usual bios-screen or desktop.
What are my other options???? Harddrive? Motherboard?

I just had the same problem and I tried the same things. I don't know if this is a virus or some glitch with MS Windows XP. |
