IE Has Slowed DownConfiguration:
Recently, IE ver. 6.0 has slowed down considerably. I've tryed Ad-Aware, Spybot, Norton Anti-virus, and nothing has fixed the problem. I installed SP2 a couple of weeks ago and just removed it to see if it would speed things up. It didn't. Attached is my hijack log:

All seems OK. How much free drive space is left?

Doing a format and re-install should help.

Run Norton in Safe mode. Then Norton can delete it. I did it - it worked.

Re: IE Has Slowed Down by Anonymous Ghost on December 08th, 2004 01:14:07 PM
Do you happen to have KBD.exe as a running task in your task manager? Do you have an HP or Compac pc? If so it could be an issue that has appeared in connection with the KBD.exe. Which is for multimedia keyboards. I just read a notice about problems with this causing slow downs and high cpu usage. You may want to do a search on "KBD.exe" on google and see if you find that info.

Get rid of the search bars and tools. Uninstall un wanted or unused progams either through Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel or Copy the uninstall for the program in the registry and paste to Run. Scandisk, defrag and reboot. Run Hijack This again.

CTFMon.exe is process running in the background on all xp op systems. I this used for voice recognition and other useless applications and does slow your system down cosiderably. Check the net to find the proper way to uninstall it. Should help.
