Browser window randomly closesConfiguration:
This problem has occurred with Yahoo DSL, AOL, and IE.

Randomly after invoking an action within a site the active browser window will close. However, any other non-active windows open on my machine will not close. (And it is very randomly) This only happens after invoking something within the site usually clicking a button which I believe is causing a post back. However, it happens in a lot of big name sites, expedia, amazon, hotmail but only randomly.

It thought it was some kind of Trojan software, but I have run both Trojan, virus and spyware detection software with no results/answers.

Any other ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP

Re: Browser window randomly closes by susan on September 20th, 2004 12:43:46 PM
Update: I installed Netscape this weekend, and the problem is NOT occurring with Netscape. However, it IS still occurring with the other browsers.
Re: Browser window randomly closes by Anonymous Ghost on November 13th, 2004 07:19:49 PM
I have been having the same problem. But, I thought it was related to hhkvded.exe does anyone know what that program is?
Re: Browser window randomly closes by Anonymous Ghost on March 17th, 2005 09:49:38 AM
I was directed to this site after I goggle searched for IE channels.aimtoday.com

It all started with my home computer not having any access to internet. The message at the bottom of IE read finding site badurl.grandstreetinteractive.com. I cleaned my system with spybot, and had followed your earlier site
Re: Explorer flashes badurl.grandstreetinteractive.com by Anonymous Ghost on January 20th, 2005 07:53:09 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know had this prob for 3 days, finally i read over these posts and got it fixed. I used AdAdware, it didnt help, got CWShredder and Spybot 1.3, this got rid of it but couldnt connect to internet, so went to regedit. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search, and deleted Customize Search and Search Assistant, then shut down, unplugged my cable modem, let sit for 5 minutes, and booted everything back up. Now it all works!! HOORAY! Thanks for everyones help, and I hope whoever came up with this badurl.grandstreetinteractive roughts in HELL!!
After spybot cleanup IE did not show the badurl...site instead is showing channels.aimtoday.com. I still cannot access internet. can somebody help
