IE 6 running really slowConfiguration:
I am a novice in this field andI've had my IE running really slow for roughly three weeks now. Up till then, I didn't have any spyware/adware tools so I tried spybot s&d, ad aware, spy sweeper, spy blaster and cw shredder but same results. The majority of the time during my internet session, the cpu is running at 99% and roughly takes 5 mintues to load from link to link. I will appreciate if someone can give me help as I am not good with computers. Thankyou. Operating System : Windows XP Home, SP2
RAM : Actual:512 MB

I found using Security Task manager this afternoon identified a Yahoo BHO Companion was using 10-20% of CPU. Took it off ans sorted out the problem. However, did also run spyware detectors and removers such as Ad-aware, Spybot etc and Registry Mechanic, BHODemon before being advised to use STM. I had slow IE and OE problems for about a week. Now IE is back to normal. Whoopeee!!!
