IE freezes when running search engine (google etc)Configuration:
The computer freezes when conducting searches in google, MSN, yahoo etc. It does not freeze with MSN only if I am logged in. With both yahoo and google it freezes with the basic search, but does not freeze when using the advanced search.

Additional Comments:
I'm totally stumped.

This has happened to me too. I have reinstalled windows and all my programs 3 times. I made sure my viruses were up to date and had spybot installed before I even installed aol (my only access to the internet) How would a virus get pass that? It seems to have been happening to people alot this past week.

Try this: Go to Internet Options, then Advanced, and then uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions". It worked for me - Google is now back to normal on my PC after about a week of this same problem.

Same problem here. Happens for MSN, Google, and Yahoo. Checked for spyware and found none. This started happening a week ago when my wife was using the computer. Changing this setting seems to solve the problem, but it disables my popup blocker. Ugh!
