| IE 6.0 Slow browser | Configuration: |
About 1-2 weeks ago, IE 6.0 became incredibly slow; wouldn't load pages, etc. When it does get to a page, any file downloads are very fast, so I figure it isn't the connection. The PC is networked to a faster machine and connected to the Internet via cable modem. The faster machine works just fine and browses fast, as always. I have already:
-Run a full NAV scan. Nothing.
-Run AdAware and deleted everything. Nothing major there either.
-Cleared my page history and temporary Internet files.
-Run Windows Update & Office Update
-Verified up-to-date firewall (Zonealarm)
-Cleared the "Enable Third-party browser extensions" checkbox
-Cleared every checkbox on my "LAN Settings" page in "Tools"|"Internet Options"|"Connections"
I am attaching my hijackthis profile...can anyone help or make suggestions?

Re: IE 6.0 Slow browser by Anonymous Ghost on October 14th, 2004 03:21:55 PM I have a similar problem. However, I do not connect through a router.
Great download speeds. But IE is freezing on me to open new web pages.
I have checked through and updated all the same spyware and windows updates as the poster above. Is it my machine? |

Re: IE 6.0 Slow browser by Anonymous Ghost on January 31st, 2005 11:44:39 AM Doing a tracert on www.hotmail.com does not produce the trace results for the (default) 30 hops. In most instances, (in my case) the request times out at about or just after the 9th hop!!! Can anyone tell what may be wrong ? Thanks. |
Re: IE 6.0 Slow browser by Anonymous Ghost on September 11th, 2005 05:11:12 PM I'm having the very same problem. The only thing I can think of is that I recently downloaded FShaw Secure. They say it should be fine. Everything loads so slow but my downloads are fast. I'm on Cable as well and windows xp sp2. |
