installing microsoft 97 Professional EditionConfiguration:
I would call myself a novice at computer knowledge, so I have a question to see if anyone can help me. I had my computer upgraded 6 months ago or so and had the tech guy fix a few problems I was having about 6 or 7 weeks ago. When it was worked on the tech guy removed all the software that was on my computer, I did not think much of it until I got the computer back and the microsoft office software was also gone and I had no software to replace it. I since obtained microsoft office 97 professional edition and have tried to install it. It will not install because when it looks at my hardware for any previous components it cannot find any. I get the message that "this is an upgrade and need previous components to complete the install or insert a diskette." I don't have a diskette with any office 97 components. Is there anyway I can install this software? Operating System : Mircosoft Windows 98 SE

boy, I keep messing up. In reference to the message below. Neither the case nor the CD says anything about it being an upgrade. Only when I try to install it do I find out that I'm suppose to have some component of office on my computer. Forgive my many inquires for one problem.
