Hello all. I have encountered a problem I havent seen before. Sometime in the past week this has all started. After logging onto my computer (a laptop) 2.7GH and everything boots up my CPU usabe immediately goes to 100% and I have no idea why.
Here is what I have done on the computer over the past week:
1) Had Verizon Fios Fiber Optic DSL installed in the house (which is 5MB and blazing fast by the way...love it!) My desktop PC works perfectly, no problems. The installer used my linksys router that was already in place with the prior cable modem. The network (with the laptop) was setup through there. The installer went into the linksys setting and made his changes. Didnt do anything else to the network, no other changes. The laptop connected with no problems. Not sure if I got a new IP or the CPU is working hard to find a new connection, I have no idea.
2) Installed Age of Mythology Titans Expansion onto the laptop. And yes it was something I downloaded from the internet with the crack so Im sure it is a suspect.
Here is what I have done to try and solve the problem:
1) Ran Norton AntiVirus, everything came up clean
2) Ran Panda online Active scan, it found the following:
a) Virus:Bck/Obot.A Not disinfected C:\asdf.exe
b)Virus:Bck/Obot.A Not disinfected C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mllii.dll
c)Virus:Bck/Obot.A Not disinfected C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ursst.dll
3) Bitdefender found the same thing
4) I ran Adaware SE and it found some cookies that was about it
5) When using task manager, under processes, it shows the Explorer.Exe as using 99% of the CPU. Thats the culprid, just need to know why or whats going on.
