Make sure you also check out this Norton's page for latest updates on manual removal of BugBear.

dont delete jdbgmgr.exe, it belongs to Xp. it looks like a bear. just leave it.

also, the symantec bugbear doesn't work.
I got it by Anonymous Ghost on June 06th, 2003 11:41:04 AM
I couldn't remove it, but I fooled it.
You open the exe file on the start up that it creates and edit it, remove or replace all that clunk and save it with the read only command.

Removal downloader.byterage by Anonymous Ghost on October 03rd, 2003 03:02:56 PM
either boot to DOS and search c: for the .exe named webcheck or launch windows goto Start/Find run search in c: for webcheck.exe and then delete the file. I have tried to find more information on this trojan and even though AVG's boot check found it, there virus database does not recognize it. funny stuff, but once I deleted webcheck.exe the problem was fixed. If you are using a USB keyboard you must disconnect it and use a serial board (regular keyboard) I hope this works for you.... Famine

Re: Removing BugBear Virus by Anonymous Ghost on March 29th, 2004 09:25:20 PM
The best Virus Program , BY FAR, is Computer Associates e-Trust Antivirus.

The reason is because it take fewer resources to run and still lets you know if a worm or virus tries to initiate at boot.

Of course any one can get a virus no matter how good your anti virus, if you are so curious or un-informed as to open a e-mail with the infected attachment.

If you have the update that covers your worm or virus infection, you can remove them (the worm or Virus) by booting into safe mode and then do a complete scan. Most virus programs will let you do this.
