What procedure did you follow to get rid of it?

Recommended procedure is:-
Goto “Add or Remove Programs” in “Control Panel”, clicking on “Change or Remove Programs”, clicking on the program called
"GSIM Uninstaller", and clicking the “Remove” button to remove the program.

try this:

open IE.
click 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' > 'Programs' tab > 'Reset Web settings'.
click yes in the confirmation box.
close IE.
open IE again and try to go to a site.

Goto start>run>regedit...
Now to edit > find.
Find "searchurl" in keys, values, and data
erase anything it finds.
redo the process again with "grandstreet" as the search term

now clean the computer with adware and spybot s&d.

now restart and try to access the internet...

resetting the web settings didn't work. I'm pretty sure the virus is gone. I deleted everything associated with it. I still can't get logged on
