Re: trojan horse stubby A by Anonymous Ghost on January 30th, 2005 04:56:57 PM Help! I have the trojan horse downloader.stubby.A which my AVG free edition has detected. It said it is embedded and cannot removed. I Purchased a program called Anti-Trojan Sheild that had a 100% guarantee and it doesn't even detect it. What should I do. Will my system restore feature work?? |
Re: trojan horse stubby A by Anonymous Ghost on March 24th, 2005 11:29:31 PM This trojan can only be removed in safe mode after turning off the system restore feature. AVG will run in safe mode where many other anti-viruses do not or do not detect this trojan. You may have to manually remove some parts. Download Trojan Hunter too and write down the location of each detected problem. Then double-click my computer in safe mode and C: and Tools, Folder Options, View, "Show all files." and manually navagate to each file Trojan Hunter found and delete it. AVG has a tool for removing it too at http://www.grisoft.com/doc/112/lng/us/tpl/tpl01. Run AVG more than once while in safe mode and run this tool too. Be sure to update AVG before running it and download Microsofts Anti-Spyware program too at www.microsoft.com. If all this doesn't work there is a long answer, manual removal, but you would be best to take it to a computer repair professional if this doesn't work. |
