The computer I am writing you from is a friends computer. My computer is only a couple months old, a Dell e510 pentium 4, windows xp,
but it is out of warrenty, the warrenty lasted only 3 months i think, and in the process of moving and settling in my new job, I was negligent in extending the warrenty. and today it suddenly, after i installed a antivirus system called Avast home edition, it will not open any windows help files, or system restore, or even the internet systems on my computer, i use mozilla firefox and internet exployer.
it is running extremely slow ---it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to shut down or restart
and i cannot open hardly anything on my computer, the little pointer on the mouse keeps scrolling like it is trying to open, but then it says not responding. i can not even open in safe mode, or do system restore. the help topic section of my computer wont open, the search for files my computer wont open, none of my files will open, etc......i cannot open my security settings or firewall settings please help...
