Bloodhound.W32.1Configuration:
After searching for viruses with Norton Anti Virus program and others such as Ad-aware etc without coming up with anything I re-installed the OS twice. The second time the NAV recognised a virus called Bloodhound which had infected the files C:\WINDOWS\system32\winhlpp32.exe (which was successfully fixed) and C:\WINDOWS\system32\cvmonitor32.exe. The file cvmonitor.exe was not fixed and could not be removed. How can I fix this, or remove it manually? Operating System : Microsoft windows xp professional

I use Windows2000, and my NortinAV shows that the PC is infected with BloodhoundW32EP virus - which could not be repaired/access failed. Symantec do not show any method of removing or deleting it!

Re-start the PC on MS-DOS mode and try to remove the bad file with the command "del" or "delete".
When you start in MS-DOS mode, you can work on it because Windows and the virus haven't been loaded, or started, yet, so the virus is still sleeping.
After you delete the virus files, you can already restart the PC on the usual, normal, mode, and to delete the virus registries with the "regedit" and the virus process with the "msconfig".
Good hunt.

My computer started up and norton anti-virus detected the virus, but didnot remove it. If someone could email a detailed way of deleting this virus, it would be great. Thanks charles_diaz@brown.edu
