How to Use Sticky Keys in Windows
I wish to know how can I use sticky keys in windows.
Instructions on how to use sticky keys in Windows
- Open the Control Panel folder and double-click Accessibility Options icon.
- Select Use StickyKeys on the Keyboard tab.
- Click the Settings button and be sure all the options in the dialog box are selected. Click OK twice. In the taskbar, you'll see three black boxes. This shows that StickyKeys is turned on.
TIP: To turn StickyKeys off, press Shift five times. To turn it back on, press Shift five times, and then press Enter.
If you have difficulty holding down two keys at the same time then Windows has a helper in the form of StickyKeys. This doesn't always gets installed with a Windows installation. To see if your computer has it installed as an accessory, go to Start / Settings / Control Panel and see if you can see an icon for Accessibility.
If it's not been installed then it's a simple enough step to install it. In Control Panel double click on Add / Remove Programs and then open the tab called Windows Setup, tick Accessibility, insert the Windows disk in the CD-ROM drive and say Have Disk and follow the instructions. Once installed follow the steps in the answer above.
When the Accessibility feature is enabled you only have to select the Shift key once in order to access all the numbers and symbols, such as £, %, + ( ), etc. After hitting the Shift key simply select the key with the number or symbol you require.
