Re: How to Turn Off Automatic Corrections in Microsoft Word

Instructions to turn off automatic corrections in Microsoft Word

  1. Open the Tools menu.
  2. Select AutoCorrect.
  3. Click the AutoCorrect tab.
  4. Uncheck the following choices: "Correct two INitial CApitals", "Capitalize first letter of sentences", "Capitalize names of days", "Correct accidental use of cAPS LOCK KEY", and "Replace text as you type".

TIP: The "Replace text as you type" feature allows you have Word replace commonly misspelled words with the correct spellings. You can also add your own common misspellings to the list. (A trick is to use this feature for typing shortcuts; for example, you could have the program replace "ng" with "NibbleGuru".)
