Have you tried Uninstalling all copies of the OS, doing a full scan, doing a defrag, and then doing a fresh install of the OS, and by going through the "Install/Uninstall New Software" selection, probably you will find this in "My Computer" depending on how your computer was setup.   I have never had your exact problem, but in previoius OS's (95, 98, and now XP) when I've had weird stuff happening I couldn't solve, that is what I would do.  I think this is why it is always suggested in installing software  that you close all other running software and that you do not re-load one copy of software on top of another one (even if it is the same CD).     Also, are you running (and have you always ran) a good and current virus scanner?  With two virus scanners having found different trojans at different times, you may still have some malware lurking.   If these ideas do not work, and you are running a good/current virus detector, then perhaps the best thing to do would be to take your computer in to a reputable computer repair person and let them help clean it.  Make sure that you, or the computer repair person, backs up your files and checks them for malware/viruses before reloading.    It might be helpful to the repair person if you could find the names of the trojans that were found; perhaps something about them is still causing these problems.  So much to be considered.   Best of luck.
