I cannot find the wireless network icon on my desktop computer.

I had Highspeed internet from a cable company, and now that I turned it off. I cannot locate my icon that tells me what available networks are close by. My Icon is gone from the task bar. Can some one help me please?.

Thank you.

Re: I cannot find the wireless network icon on my desktop

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections.

Right click the Wireless Network Connection and click View Available Networks.

I have done that and there is nothing there, I had to reinstall windows on my computer. would i need to do something to have the computer pick up my wireless card?

Probably the network is hidden. If that is the case and you know the SSID of the same then you can configure/ add it manually.
