  1. Open the Apple menu.
  2. Click Control Panels.
  3. Click Monitors & Sound.
  4. Click the Alerts icon.
  5. Click one of the available Mac alert sounds. You'll hear a sample of the sound when you choose it.
  6. If you don't like the standard choices, click Add to record your own. Make sure you limit it upto 10 seconds.
