I wish to know how can I quick format a drive or removable media in mac os 9.

Thanks for the help.

Instructions to Quick Format a Drive/Removable Media in Mac OS 9

  1. NOTE: Formatting erases everything on whatever media you format. Make sure to copy anything you need before formatting.
  2. Single-click the disk's icon on your desktop that you wish to format.
  3. Pull down the "Special" menu from the top of the screen and select "Erase Disk..."
  4. Enter whatever label you want in the "Name:" field in the window that pops up. If the disk is a hard drive, select "Mac OS Extended" from the "Format:" pulldown. If the disk is not a hard drive but is some other removable media like Zip Disc, select "Mac OS Standard" for the format.
  5. Press "Erase". The drive will be formatted in a few minutes and will be ready to be used.
