I purchased a used Dell Dimension 3000 computer without a hard drive.  I installed a used hard drive from another Dell computer that was working fine.  I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 2233sw flat screen monitor.  When I turn on the computer, the first screen that pops up is the safe start mode screen.  This is the same screen that pops up if your computer has not been turned off properly.  You are asked to chose a mode or just wait till the screen changes.  After a few seconds the screen changes to the Dell screen which shows a bar loading below the Dell word.

In XP Pro, my folder views is not staying as I set it. I want details & it changes back to icons when I restart the machine. I found a link to get to Tweak UI that permitted me to change the 400 to 8000, but it still does not remember the folder view once I shut the pc down & restart it. I Also set the remember folder view in my folder options. I tried the fix at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm. Still changes back when I restart the computer.

Windows XP forgets my folder view settings. I want details but it keeps reverting to icons. I have gone to tools & view & clicked on view all folders the same but it doesn't work. I have gone to the registry & expanded the number in the MRU size to 6000 in both shell and shell roam, but still does not remember the settings. what more can I do??

Many things now I do on my computer I get this message ( c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe  application not found). How can I fix this?

I am trying to restore my computer to a earlier date. Because of some problems I am having and want to get rid of them. But I can't open the restore I keep getting this message:

I get error message  0X71ab6a55    I cannot get into internet and cannot get message off screen

I am using XP and Mozilla.  I cannot locate my Temp File.  Several times I will save something and it will be sent to the Temp File automatically, and I will see other files in the Temp File.  However, as soon as I  select "Save", the Temp File goes away and I am unable to find it again (until something else is saved in it).  I would like to access it readily and see what is in there.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

How can I fix an Error Tab DLL?  After I boot up my laptop I get this Tab, and it locks my system up.  Not letting me click on anything?  What are the steps to fix this problem.  Fraustrated Thanks Rp

Ever since I did windows updates with service pack 3 my computer won't start normal. I did a system recovery and still problems. I went to HP did the steps they suggested and still it won't start correctly. I even uninstalled the service pack. I have done on line scans thinking it could be a virus only McAfee picked up one trojan and now I can't remember that name. Used AVG too and it found one trojan and all was cleaned. When I turn off my pc it will start normal all day but once I turn it off for the night come back in the morning bang!
